For her Author’s Visit to Washington Park Elementary, where she donated the profits from her book sales to the school’s PTO to allow for additional literacy resources for the kindergarten thru second grade students.

She was highlighted for her service to the community and her focus on reducing screen time in young children with her new book Techie Tess Takes a Rest. She was also highlighted for her work in with local school board and administration to help change school policies to bell to bell no cell phones policies kindergarten thru 12th grade.
